Solway Gas has taken advantage of the Gas Equipment Inspectors Training Courses run by Murex, so now Solway Gas can offer inspection services to its local customers.
Solway Gas, one of Scotland's leading distributors of Murex Welding products, is one of the latest companies to benefit from attending a Murex Gas Equipment Inspectors Training Course. Marie Grierson of Solway Gas comments: "The course was exceptionally well organised and extremely helpful."
Solway Gas decided to register for one of the Murex Courses at the company's Waltham Cross headquarters in order to ensure that key personnel were fully accredited Gas Inspectors and able to provide inspection services to Solway's local customer base in the Dumfries area. Grierson, whose son was on the course, continues: "There is lots of potential for Gas Equipment Inspection Services in our area and with this accreditation we are now able to capitalise on this."
Murex Welding Products' City & Guilds Accredited Gas Equipment Inspectors training courses are designed for safety officers, maintenance staff, supervisors, technical college and school staff as well as anyone else responsible for the safety aspects of oxy-fuel gas systems. The two-day Certification Courses are conducted at the company's Waltham Cross HQ and provide qualifications that permit individuals to conduct full safety checks on oxy-fuel gas welding systems. The course includes theoretical instruction on oxy-fuel gas safety, the properties of gases, safe use and operation of systems. The second day is devoted to practical training and hands-on sessions that teach the candidates how to test an oxy-fuel gas station and pass it off for safe use. Recertification Courses are also available.
Grierson concludes by saying: "There is no doubt that the course has benefitted our company enormously," and expressing her gratitude to those who organised the course and went out of their way to welcome Solway Gas to Waltham Cross.
