Free CD explains UPS Decentralised Parallel Architecture

This comprehensive CD-Rom is designed to help specifiers make an informed choice about UPS systems, ranging from 'standard' power protection to highly available, parallel redundant modular systems from 1kVA to several MVA.

In addition to company and product videos, the CD-Rom provides guidance on system design and build, installation and commissioning, maintenance and support services. Document downloads include editable generic UPS specifications, as well as brochures, case studies and white papers.

Decentralised Parallel Architecture, pioneered by UPSL, is designed to remove any single point of failure, thereby achieving virtually zero downtime and eliminating costly disruptions to mission-critical operations.

In our PowerWAVE 9000DPA system, each individual module contains all the necessary hardware and software required for full system operation. With a minimum of one module over and above that required to support the load capacity, the load is protected with UPS power if any one module shuts down, thereby providing full N+1 redundancy and significantly increasing system availability.

When compared with conventional power protection systems, DPA dramatically reduces electricity costs, heat loss and CO2 emissions, and is claimed to deliver the industry's smallest footprint and lowest total cost of ownership. DPA also enables users to hot-swap modules, without risk to the critical load, thereby significantly reducing repair time and simplifying system upgrades.
