ESAB is announcing a full schedule of 2014 Gas Inspectors’ Courses to obtain internationally recognised certification for the annual inspection of oxy-fuel gas welding equipment and non-welding gas systems. Course registration is now underway at .
The ESAB / City & Guilds Accredited Gas Inspectors courses focus on the safety aspects of using oxy-fuel welding gases. In addition, various aspects of industrial gas safety for non-welding gas systems are covered. These 2-day courses provide safety training leading to the internationally recognised City & Guilds qualification.
Courses incorporate both classroom and practical sessions. Day 1 theory certification courses present such topics as health and safety legislation; risk assessments and method statements; codes of practice and standards BE EN ISO as applied to industrial gases; the properties, applications and safety of industrial gases; process equipment; and introduction to inspections and reporting. Day 2 sessions focus entirely on practical application, including detailed fault finding. Candidates are taught how to fully test an oxy-fuel gas station and pass it off for safe use. Instruction is also provided on risk assessment of stations in accordance with current legal requirements.
At the conclusion of training, each candidate will receive a detailed test manual for reference along with an individual tool kit to conduct testing and inspection recording.
ESAB Gas Inspectors’ Safety courses are led by David Fell, one of the UK’s prominent authorities on industrial gas processes. The qualification courses are held at ESAB’s Waltham Cross premises.
