Mechan Controls has published a substantial new catalogue of machine guard safety switches and systems. The company, which was established in the 1970s, is still designing and manufacturing non-contact switches and systems in the UK in order to retain full control over quality for these safety-critical products. Ongoing research and development means the new catalogue includes products that have only recently been launched.
At the front of the new brochure there is a section devoted to machinery safety standards. There is also information about Mechan Controls, quality control, and stock and delivery.
Of course the bulk of the catalogue focuses on Mechan Controls' non-contact safety switches and monitoring systems. Included within the extensive range are:
- Magnetic switches in ABS housings
- Magnetic switches in 316 grade stainless steel housings
- Coded magnetic switches in ABS housings
- Coded magnetic switches in 316 grade stainless steel housings
- Coded electronic switches in ABS housing
- Dual switches for monitoring a pair of doors, each with a coded magnetic actuator
- Pneumatic locking units
- Safety relays
- Modular control and monitoring devices for use with guard switches and emergency stop switches
Different products are available to suit a variety of diverse applications, providing a level of integrity that is appropriate in each case. In addition, customers can choose pre-wired or plugged connections, and switch units feature LED status indication for quickly identifying whether guards are properly closed or if a fault has occurred. If required, Mechan Controls can provide 'turn-key' custom-built guard monitoring systems with, for example, a controller pre-installed in a stainless steel or painted steel cabinet, with a mimic panel, status indicators and a reset button on the door.
As well as detailing the current product range, the new Mechan Controls brochure also includes information about legacy products and systems, which will be of benefit to customers maintaining older equipment.
Copies of the 68-page full-colour A4 brochure are available on request by using the contact form on the Mechan Controls website, or telephone 01695 722264 (please mention MachineBuilding.net).
