It seems that I only ever get to try welding while
wearing a suit, but such is life as an editor. A
couple of weeks ago ESAB invited me to the press
launch of its Rebel multi-process welding machine and
I was given the opportunity to have a go with it. I
can report that the Rebel really is easy to set up and
use to produce a good weld.
This welder could be great for machine builders who
seldom weld but, when they do, they might find
themselves having to do MIG, TIG or stick welding, and
the material might be mild steel, stainless steel or
aluminium. And they might need to carry the machine to
where it is needed in their own factory or on a
customer's site, and perhaps there is only a
single-phase supply of either 120V or 230V. See below
to find out more about the 'weld anything, anywhere'

non-experts can produce good welds. More?
