AllnGaP low-power LEDs are extra bright for use outdoors

Avago Technologies is launching a new series of low-power, high-performance, extra-bright round through-hole light emitting diodes (LEDs) for portable and solar-powered outdoor electronic signs and signal applications. Available in red, amber and red-orange colours, the new HLMP-Exxx series of 5mm aluminium indium gallium phosphide (AllnGaP) LEDs are highly reliable and provide high luminous intensity with low forward voltage to meet the needs of designers seeking low-power lighting.

Typical applications for Avago's HLMP-Exxx series of AllnGaP LEDs include outdoor portable commercial full-colour or monochrome signs and marquees, scoreboards, and traffic management signals such as pedestrian signals, and construction zone warning lights. These new LEDs are also suitable for use in signs that are solar powered, provide variable messages, or use channel lettering.

Avago's HLMP-Exxx LEDs are competitively priced and available in untinted, non-diffused, T 1-3/4 packages to provide well defined spatial radiation patterns at specific viewing cone angles for excellent readability in sunlight. Moreover, these precision optical performance LEDs provide superior light output and are extremely reliable.

Avago's HLMP-EGxx (red), HLMP-ELxx (amber) and HLMP-EHxx (red-orange) AllnGaP LEDs are available in viewing angles of 15-, 23- and 30-degrees.

  • Developed on one of the industry's brightest AllnGaP dice available to provide high-luminous output
  • Suitable for auto-insertion onto a printed circuit board
  • Low forward voltage (1.8-2.4V)
  • Package options: with or without lead standoff
