Elscint Automation is now offering bowl coating services for feeder bowls of all makes, a service previously only available for Elscint’s own bowls. The Elscinthane bowl coating is a sprayable polyurethane lining for feeder bowls and offers a number of advantages.
Firstly, in the case of metallic components, the noise level caused by metal-to-metal contact can be drastically reduced. A second problem faced by customers is of oily feeding components. Oily components reduce or eliminate the friction between the components and the bowl track. As vibrators work on the principle of friction, the reduction in friction results in the components slipping and not feeding correctly. Elscint takes this into account with the bowl coating and can provide a rough texture, resulting in appropriate friction between the components and the bowl and a smooth flow of components.
Elscinthane linings can be given either a smooth or rough finish, depending upon the end requirement of the feeding application. Elscinthane bowl linings are offered in various thicknesses ranging from 0.40-2mm and above. The linings are available in green and red colour, and look good aesthetically. There are two types of coatings available, with different shore hardnesses of 85 and 95. Elscint can recommend the correct type of coating, which will depend upon the parts to be used. The coating can be used with stainless steel, mild steel and cast aluminium bowls, and is available at a very competitive price and on a short lead time.
