TDK Corporation is introducing the CPFE1000FI series of conduction-cooled AC-DC power supplies. Rated at up to 1000W output power, the units are available in three compact package types – a low-profile U-channel with or without a cover and as an open-frame PCB assembly. Requiring no external airflow, the power supplies are designed to be used with a cold-plate, in sealed enclosures or systems that are liquid cooled.

Applications include RF power amplifiers, data communications or equipment in harsh industrial environments where cooling fans are not permitted. The CPFE1000FI is suitable for users who require a fully compliant conduction-cooled power supply, but do not have the time or resources to develop a custom power-module-based system.

Available with 12, 24/28 or 48V outputs, the units will operate at full load from a wide range 90 to 265V AC input with baseplate temperatures of -40 to 85degC. A standard I2C interface allows engineers to interrogate the output voltage/current, base plate temperature, manufacturing location/date and serial number of the CPFE1000FI. In addition, the remote on/off control, DC good function, and over temperature warning are suitable for monitoring and controlling the power supply in remote applications.

The CPFE1000FI U-channel measures 254mm × 112mm × 44mm and the PCB package style just 254mm × 107mm × 40mm. An option for a protective coating is available to help protect against the ingress of moisture or contaminants. The units are safety certified to IEC/EN/US 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. The units also comply with EN 55011-B and EN 55022-B conducted emissions (Class A radiated), and meet both the IEC 61000-3-2 harmonics and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
