TDK Corporation is introducing the i6A series of 250W DC-DC converters, featuring a wide 3.3V to 24V output adjustment range. The non-isolated i6A series can deliver up to 14A output current and will operate over a 9V to 40V input range. Power density is 427W/in3 packaged in the industry standard 1/16th brick form factor.
Suitable for creating additional high-current output voltages from a single output 12V or 24V AC-DC supply power supply, the highly efficient converters are suitable for use in medical, communications, industrial, test and measurement, broadcast and portable equipment.
The compact, PCB mount i6A DC-DC converters measure just 33 × 22.9 × 12.7mm, offer efficiencies of up to 98 per cent and will operate in ambient temperatures of -40degC to +125degC. The thermal design of the series allows for minimal output de-rating, even with low airflow and high ambient temperature conditions. The product’s optimised dynamic voltage response reduces the need for external capacitors, saving board space.
Standard features include a trim pin for output voltage adjustment, remote sense, remote on-off (positive or negative logic), input under-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection. Power good, operating frequency synchronisation and output sequencing are available as an option.
Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60950-1, UL/CSA 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives.
