2000 new stock springs added to Lee Spring catalogue

Lee Spring will introduce around 2000 new stock springs to its catalogue range by the start of 2012. For customers requiring non-standard products, Lee Spring also has the engineering expertise to design and manufacture innovative, high-quality custom springs to order.

New metric and Imperial sizes are being added to a variety of spring families, including compression, extension, torsion and wave springs. The metric compression and extension springs exceed DIN standards and the other springs are designed and manufactured to a similarly high quality (there being no DIN or EU standards for either wave springs or torsion springs).

To illustrate the new additions to the Lee Spring catalogue, the company is introducing 464 metric and imperial sizes to its range of stainless steel REDUX wave spring. This type of compression spring is often specified because of the reduced operating height, as well as the resistance to corrosion and elevated temperatures. The range now includes smaller and more versatile springs for use within 6mm or 0.250inch diameter holes.

Wave springs can be used in place of conventional round wire springs in space-critical applications. Generally they occupy 30-50 per cent of the compressed height space of comparable round wire springs, yet the deflection and load specifications are the same. Stainless steel REDUX wave springs are often specified for motorsport applications, so Lee Spring will be exhibiting these - and many other products - at Autosport International.

All Lee Spring products are manufactured for strength, durability and corrosion resistance. Music wire and oil-tempered music wire springs are zinc-plated, passivated and de-embrittled; stainless steel springs are passivated for optimum corrosion resistance.

Machine designers can quickly get expert engineering advice for special projects and applications from Lee Spring's local engineering team, and stock springs can be ordered online or by telephone for same-day despatch. Go to www.leespring.co.uk for more information.
