The 2008 Micro Concepts technical conferences brought together 280 delegates, making them the largest Autodesk manufacturing solutions-dedicated series of events in the UK. Held at the new 25million AirSpace hangar at Duxford Imperial War Museum and at Reading University, the conferences introduced delegates to the new 2009 Autodesk product range, showcasing new features and demonstrating ways to get the best return on investment from the software.
Mark Mills of Micro Concepts explains: "Our conferences are an excellent way for our customers to learn about the latest technology and how CAD is developing. For example, how Inventor software is giving our small to medium-sized customers the competitive edge by enabling digital prototyping and so helping them to bring their products to market faster. We work with many SMEs and know how using the latest technology in this way can really give them the boost their business needs to keep ahead."
Micro Concepts has previously hosted its renowned technical conferences nearer to its Cambridgeshire headquarters. However, its recent acquisition of the manufacturing CAD business from Universal CAD in Reading has broadened its customer base and meant that users of Autodesk Inventor in the Thames Valley area have been able to take advantage of Micro Concepts' expertise and knowledge for the first time.
Mills says: "We were delighted by the excellent attendance - and subsequent positive feedback. Typical comments praised the practical approach - especially our tips and tricks section - plus the lack of "sales talk.' It seems our customers went away with some definite ideas on how to enhance their business."
