Yuasa Battery Sales (UK) is adding the 6-volt SWL2500-6 valve-regulated lead-acid battery to its SWL family of industrial VRLA batteries.
Suitable for use in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and similar high discharge rate applications, the new SWL2500-6 delivers the same increased performance as other batteries in the SWL family. Typically, this provides 40 per cent extra discharge capacity compared with standard NPL series batteries.
The 6V SWL2500-6 features a nominal 10hr rate capacity of 180Ah to 10.8V at 20degC. Standby life expectancy is up to 10 years (design life at 20degC).
As standard, the SWL2500-6 features a UL94HB ABS case, though a flame-retardant (FR) option is available for UL94V0 applications. The battery can be installed and operated in any orientation except permanently inverted. The new battery complies with IEC 61056 and IEC 60896-21/22. Case dimensions are 297 x 168 x 231.5mm with a typical mass of 32.5kg.
Operating temperature ranges are -15 to +50degC when charging and -20 to +60degC when discharging. Optimum storage temperature in the fully charged condition is from -20 to +50degC. Additional specifications include low self-discharge characteristics during storage, a maximum discharge current of 1500A for 1s or 800A for one minute, and an impedance of 3mohms measured at 1kHz.
The new Yuasa SWL2500-6 is available from a wide range of distributors in the UK. Follow the link for more information about SWL series valve-regulated lead-acid batteries.
