Steinmeyer UK, manufacturer of ballscrew and nut assemblies, is opening a new office in Northwich, Cheshire. Since launching in 2006, the UK division of the German manufacturer has seen its business volume grow steadily year on year resulting in the need for more office space.

With the opening of new manufacturing facilities in Germany in 2007 Steinmeyer has been able to increase the volume of production output substantially and therefore cut lead times. This in turn contributed to the increase in business in the UK in 2008.

George Partington, Steinmeyer UK sales director, comments: "Steinmeyer's wide range of products and the flexibility to react quickly to changing design requirements is highly rated by our customers. Market conditions are changing constantly and we need to stay focussed on what the customers want, rather than just launching new products for the sake of it."

Making ballscrews ranging from miniature size 3mm to 125mm, Steinmeyer covers most applications where ballscrews are needed. In addition, the company is well known for its tailor-made special designs for niche applications. Steinmeyer ballscrews can be found in most linear motion applications from medical device technology to flight-critical elements in aerospace components. A shining example of Steinmeyer innovation is ETA+, a ballscrew designed especially to increase machine performance through increased rigidity and decreased friction.
