Aerco is launching the Deutsch Wildcat series, a new range of high-quality circular connectors that combines the performance levels of D38999 connectors with the compact size of the Deutsch MMC range.

With the increasing sophistication and complexity of electronic systems, onboard military vehicles space for connectors and cabling is at a premium with a subsequent growing demand for small, light, high-performance connectors.

The Wildcat series comprises the Micro range and the series 3. The Wildcat Micro, developed from the Deutsch MMC, has three, five or nine contacts and is now available with a threaded as well as bayonet version. The former gives excellent shell-to-shell continuity for EMC performance and also has a clicker mechanism that offers a distinct advantage over competitive devices.

Developed from the Deutsch double density range, the Wildcat series 3 connectors have from 11 to 64 contacts, at a pin density that is close to double that of a similarly sized D38999 connector with comparable mechanical and environmental performance.

Wildcat connectors are available in a wide range of finishes, including cadmium, zinc cobalt and RoHS-compliant nickel and are protected to IP67. The new standards set in terms of pin density, reduced size and choice of coupling methods will enable design engineers greater scope and flexibility when setting equipment requirements and cabling infrastructure and management.
