IFM Electronic Ltd has recently launched more pneumatic cylinder sensors. These new devices in the MK51 series offer very precise detection of short travel distances, so for short-stroke cylinders, in particular the hysteresis, exact position detection is possible to
An added bonus is that short cylinders are themselves very small, with a length of only 25mm. The fixing method also ensures that they remain reliably in position, no matter how much movement there is in the cylinder, or strain on the cable.
Even weak magnets are not a problem for the AMR sensing cell incorporated into the fast-acting MK51 cylinder sensors. Installation is easy: if the cylinder has a T-slot, the switch is dropped in, slid into position and then tightened up. If there is no T-slot, adapters available from IFM Electronic will ensure a good fit.
Electrically common options are catered for, with open and closed functions, positive or negative switching, and the connection can be made via 2m cables or shorter lengths with standard M8 or M12 connectors.
IFM Electronic's manufacturing of all MK cylinder sensors provides excellent sealing of the housing, rendering the cylinders virtually impenetrable.
IFM is committed to working closely with its customers to develop products that precisely match their needs. The company provides expert, readily accessible technical support to help users maximise the benefits they gain from IFM products.
