Addnode Group has completed the acquisition of UK-based Symetri from Airbus Defence and Space. Symetri is an Autodesk Gold partner and a supplier of software for computer-aided design (CAD) and associated training and consulting services.
The acquisition of Symetri by the Addnode Group will create Autodesk's largest partner in Northern Europe, further strengthening the capacity and capability of Symetri in the UK with the creation of a new centre of manufacturing CAD excellence.
Symetri director, Colin Watson says: "The integration of Symetri into Addnode Group's international organisation provides enhanced opportunities for customers and the business itself. Existing Symetri customers benefit from a broader knowledge of manufacturing CAD, plus expertise in related areas such as data management, simulation, PLM and complementary proprietary software applications. The acquisition also provides continuity for our customers, with existing account managers remaining in place. Indeed, looking forward the emphasis will be on "business as usual'."
Addnode Group acquires, builds and manages companies that deliver mission-critical IT systems for the specific needs of its clients. Cad-Q, which is 100 per cent owned by Addnode Group, is Scandinavia and Finland's leading provider of IT systems supporting processes related to design, engineering, production and the management of advanced construction.
As 3D CAD matures, resellers need a wider range of skills and areas of specialised knowledge to meet the business requirements of today's discerning clients. Cad-Q has the background in data management, software development, PLM and systems integration necessary to help ensure continued success for both Symetri and its customers. In return, Symetri offers Cad-Q access, for its own range of products and services, to a large base of Autodesk manufacturing customers in the UK.
