APS signs Memorandum of Understanding with IIRSM

The Association for Project Safety and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) are announcing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum is primarily designed to drive forward four key areas of collaboration:

APS signs Memorandum of Understanding with IIRSM

  • Sharing knowledge, training and development
  • Providing industry with a combined view on construction design management issues, regulations and appropriate regulatory compliance, with the ultimate aim of making sites safer for site workers and users, including potential joint working groups
  • Supporting and developing joint international activities
  • Working with other related or relevant bodies

The signing took place in the prestigious setting of the Atlee room in the House of Lords on Tuesday 23 February 2016.

Richard Wilks, APS President, says: "We are delighted to establish this link to work closely with IIRSM to promote good practice in design and construction health and safety risk management. The expertise of both IIRSM and APS Members will enhance debates and encourage creative thinking on industry issues with the ultimate aim of enhancing health and safety in the workplace."

Phillip Pearson, Chief Executive of IIRSM, adds: "I am very pleased to be working more closely with APS and look forward to delivering some practical achievements with them over the coming months and years. This Memorandum of Understanding cements our relationship with a reliable partner and is a positive step forward for the Institute and its Members."
