Belden is exhibiting at INTERKAMA 2007, presenting its new corporate image and introducing many new and innovative products. Belden's participation comes at a very significant time with the company's recent acquisition of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH and a new agreement to acquire Lumberg Automation Components GmbH.
Belden is one of the world's leading manufacturers of process automation (PA) cables for use in instrumentation, regulation and control technologies. These are widely used in key industries such as oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceuticals processing, paper and pulp manufacturing and processing, semiconductor manufacturing, the automotive industry, the metals industry and many others.
New developments on display will include:
DataBus. This well-known line of cables is being extended to include new FieldBus Type A multipair and foil/braid cables to provide installation flexibility for many different environments where multiple or extended cable runs are required. The benefit to the end user is freedom to implement integrated digital control and a high-speed backbone for plant operation. All this removes the constraints on device and sub-system interoperability.
ControlBus. Belden is expanding its ControlBus cable line with a continuously corrugated aluminium armoured product. These cables are low-loss RG-6U type coaxes that meet the requirements for high-speed time-critical requirements necessary for the operation of ControlNet factory-floor systems.
ProfiBus. These new cables are now available in a standard design giving additional flexibility as well as having continuously corrugated aluminium armour for additional protection in very harsh environments.
DeviceBus and DeviceNet. A DeviceNet network is an open, low-cost system link between industrial devices, such as sensors and actuators and higher-level devices, such as programmable logic controllers and PCs. Two new DeviceBus cables now have TPE jackets with additional red jackets on some cables to designate DeviceNet Safety.
