Bespoke attachment chain in just 2 weeks
Donghua Limited has officially opened its new UK-based attachment chain workshop. Since 2009 Donghua has established itself as one of the UK's leading chain suppliers. The company is headed by Bob Wellsbury who has 35 years' experience in the chain sector and who is keen to bring a fresh approach to supplying chain in the UK.
Bob says: "The investment in our new workshop means we can now build bespoke attachment chain in-house, reducing the turnaround from design to delivery to just 2-3 weeks!. We're one of only a few chain manufacturers to have such technical facilities directly in the UK."
Based within their UK distribution centre and headquarters in the West Midlands, the workshop's technical facilities include:
- Chain Length Measuring machine - designed and built by Donghua the machine accurately measures chain to within 10 microns per metre
- Pre-Loading of Chain - eliminates the initial elongation often found in built in-house attachment chain
- Matching of Chain - Donghua's measuring equipment matches chain to within close tolerances to ensure a high degree of accuracy (within +0.5mm) along the entire length
- Hot-dip lubrication system - allows full penetration into the bearing areas to provide optimum protection for the chain and reduce premature chain wear
- Cutting Large Pitch Chain - two 100 tonne presses cut large pitch chains and rotary chains
- Pneumatic Press Riveter - used for riveting attachment or bespoke chain to the desired configuration
- Tub grinder - used for accurate surface grinding
