BLDC vs BLAC motors: which is right for your application?

Choosing the right electric motor technology is essential for ensuring energy efficiency, reliability, and consistent long-term performance. To meet these demands, Ever Motion Solutions designs its ranges of AC brushless (BLAC) and DC brushless (BLDC) motors - advanced solutions that eliminate maintenance and wear on mechanical contacts thanks to electronic commutation driven by Hall sensors, encoders, or sensorless systems.

BLDC vs BLAC motors: which is right for your application?

For applications requiring high dynamic responsiveness, compactness, and maximum flexibility, Ever offers its BLDC line: low-voltage motors (up to 750W) perfectly suited for automated logistics, AGVs and AMRs, and also available with integrated electronics to simplify wiring.

If your application demands higher power (up to 1.4 kW) and maximum durability in harsh environments with an IP65 protection rating, Ever's sine-wave BLAC range is the ideal choice: servomotors engineered for robotics and CNC machines, delivering smooth torque output, zero cogging, and precise motion control.

Fully customisable both electrically and mechanically, Ever's motors pair seamlessly with their corresponding digital drive lines: Platino (for BLDC) and Vanadio (for BLAC), programmable via the e3PLC Studio environment and ready for key industrial fieldbuses.

Ever Motion Solutions develops its digital drive line for DC and AC brushless motors to deliver dynamic control and smart energy management in every industrial application. The drives precisely regulate speed, torque and position in both sinusoidal and trapezoidal modes, minimising vibration, heat buildup and acoustic emissions.

The drives for brushless DC motors (up to 750W) utilise closed-loop control via encoders and Hall sensors to ensure exceptionally smooth movement, making them ideal for robotics, material handling, and automated logistics with AGVs and AMRs.

The servo drives for brushless AC motors (up to 1.5 kW, powered by Arm Core M4 technology) integrate the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function and support incremental or absolute encoders (BiSS-C, SSI), guaranteeing perfect multi-axis synchronization for CNC machinery and advanced robotics.

Thanks to full compatibility with major fieldbuses (EtherCAT, CANopen, Profinet, Modbus) and programmability through our e3PLC Studio environment, Ever's drives allow you to manage complex logic in real time - boosting overall plant reliability and productivity.
