Boxed fanless PC includes extensive connectivity
Trident is introducing a new boxed fanless PC that is easy to mount thanks to both VESA and DIN Rack mounting options. It is therefore useful for both the industrial automation/process control and digital signage markets.
The Avalue EPC-3711 is available with either solid-state storage or a SATA 2.5inch hard disk drive. It is a fully featured unit, with considerable external connectivity for such a compact PC, providing two COM ports, three USB 2.0 ports, RGB (15 DSUB), Dual Gigabit LAN, six-channel audio, one mini PCI, PS2 keyboard, mouse, and CompactFlash. The EPC-3711 is powered by a 1GHz VIA Eden V4 CPU with VIA CN700 chipset supporting up to 1GB of DDR2 memory, and can run from just a single 5V rail.
An embedded board features a hardware status monitor, so any overheating of the system or CPU and can be detected so that the CPU can be throttled automatically.
The overall size of the PC is just 178 x 112 x 50mm, and it only weighs around 1.2kg.
