CamdenBoss at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2018

CamdenBoss's popular FSPT custom enclosures will now be suitable for use in harsh environments thanks to a joining technique developed by the company to ensure that enclosures are completely watertight. This enhancement - offering an IP68 rating - will further increase the appeal of the versatile FSPT product line, enabling customers to deploy custom enclosures in many more applications than were previously possible, including outside environments.

Staying with the waterproof theme, new circular connectors include the premium CamCirc IP68 multi-pole range that is suitable for a multitude of applications such as broadcasting, military, energy, marine, food processing, industrial, automotive & autosport, medical, oil & gas, rail, robotics, agriculture and security. With a rugged, high-quality and high-performance interconnection product from 2 to over 20 poles, CamCirc products do not disconnect when the cable is under load or stress and are colour coded to ensure correct mating.

CamdenBoss's CPWP3 range of IP68 waterproof connectors offers a range of benefits including innovative one-piece construction to reduce the possibility of incorrect assembly. With three models available - a waterproof field assembly T connector, a waterproof field assembly in-line connector and a 3-pole waterproof panel mount connector - the robust CPWP3 range features an integrated terminal block design so there are no small parts that might be dropped. This makes them well suited for use in field cable joining applications where losing parts can create difficulties. The compact one-piece construction ensures ease of installation with colour-coded screws/terminals making wiring up easy, while the inclusion of Braille points ensures correct identification of connections in low light conditions.

The latest PCB terminal blocks in CamdenBoss's flagship CamBlock Plus range will be introduced including a brand new CamBlock Plus 2.54mm pitch rising clamp terminal block offering 2 to 12 poles designed for use in applications with limited space or for low power products. Competitively priced and UL approved, the new terminal block is useful for R&D, lighting, fire and security products where space is at a premium.

Also on show will be a new range of CamBlock Plus screwless pluggable terminal blocks covering 2.5, 3.5, 3.81 and 5.08mm pitch sizes from 2 to 12 poles. Enabling faster wire assembly and compatible with existing CamBlock Plus pluggable male headers, the CSTB92 series offers UL approval and is competitively priced.

Three new ranges of enclosures for the electrical market will also be launched at the show. X6 series knock out enclosures are available in 10 sizes with a choice of UV stable polycarbonate as standard or ABS as a lower cost option. Polarised lids provide a secure fit and can be transparent or solid grey. These enclosures feature industry standard integrated knockouts for electrical cable glands and provide IP67 class sealing and IK09 impact protection for applications such as junction boxes, controls, power sources and industrial/outdoor equipment.

X7 series heavy duty enclosures are available in five sizes with a choice of UV stable polycarbonate or ABS materials and solid grey or transparent lids. Offering IP67 sealing, X6 series enclosures feature rigid corners for IK08 impact protection and brass inserts for PCB mounting. With wall mounting capability, applications include measurement and display equipment, outdoor and coastal environment equipment.

Hinged lids are available on X8 series enclosures which come in 16 sizes, again with UV stable polycarbonate as standard or ABS as a cost saving alternative. The hinged lids are available in both grey or transparent with increased security from a padlock tab and latches that lock the enclosure shut. Suitable for distribution boards, meter enclosures, control equipment and measurement/display equipment, X8 series enclosures offer a robust IP67 and IK08 option.

All X6, X7 and X8 electrical enclosures are available with a range of accessories such as steel mounting plates, vents and wall/surface mount brackets. The X8 series also offers integral locks and double door kits.

Takachi enclosures from CamdenBoss saw a new range of flanged comms boxes, new shockproof boots and new sizes for many existing ranges in 2017 and a further new range will be launched at the show. The new 95 series offers diecast aluminium enclosures in stylish, elegant designs with black anodized or brushed aluminium hairline finish. Excellent cooling performance is provided by the built-in heat-sink. Easy to assemble, these robust enclosures are available in 14 sizes.
