Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has appointed a new Account Manager for the South West of England and South Wales region. Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2020 smashes records

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2020, held at Farnborough International Exhibition Centre in February, witnessed a 9 per cent increase in attendance to set an all-time record. A total of 9,256 visitors attended the three-day show, which is the UK's longest-running and largest annual industrial technology exhibition. Companies from all over the UK, continental Europe and further afield took part, showcasing a huge range of industrial products and technologies, from electronic components to the latest high-tech machining centres.

Bosch Rexroth adopts Ubuntu Core for ctrlX Automation platform

Canonical has announced that Bosch Rexroth has selected Ubuntu Core for their app-based platform ctrlX Automation. ctrlX Automation leverages Ubuntu Core, designed for embedded devices, and snaps, the universal Linux application containers, to deliver an open source platform to remove the barriers between machine control, IT and OT. Industrial manufacturing solutions built on ctrlX Automation with Ubuntu Core and snaps will benefit from an open ecosystem, faster time to production and stronger security across devices' lifecycle.
