The Essentra Components guide explains that conduit fill, also known as raceway fill, is the amount of a conduit's cross-sectional area occupied, or filled, by a cable or multiple cables. The fill is based on the cable outside diameter (OD) and the conduit inside diameter (ID).

NSK Europe Ltd appoints Dr Ulrich Nass as new CEO

The Board of Directors of NSK Ltd. announced the promotion of Dr Ulrich Nass as Chief Executive Officer of NSK Europe Ltd. His appointment is effective since 1 October 2019. Dr Nass was also appointed Vice President of NSK Ltd. on the same date. Since taking over as Chief Operating Officer in February 2019, he has initiated the transformation of NSK Europe for the future.

Northern Manufacturing & Electronics sets new attendance record

The Northern Manufacturing and Electronics show made a triumphant return to EventCity, Manchester on October 2nd and 3rd. The exhibition welcomed 2,240 industry professionals over the two days, an increase of more than 10 per cent on the previous event. Over 200 companies and organisations participated in the show from a wide variety of sectors and specialities.

Yaskawa Motoman opens new centre of excellence

Yaskawa's expansion and investment programme continues apace with the opening of a new centre for Robotic Welding, Milling and Material Handling Applications in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. The Yaskawa Northern Technology Centre represents a significant investment of more than £250,000 and will enable Yaskawa to showcase systems for welding, cutting and palletising applications.

New housed bearings and custom rolling bearings at Agritechnica

At Agritechnica 2019 (10-16 November, Hanover, Germany), NSK will present rolling bearing series that have been developed from the ground up for use in agriculture machinery. These products will include the robust housing bearings of the new J-Line series, ready-to-install Agri Disc Hub housings for soil tillage machinery, and numerous examples of custom rolling bearings developed in collaboration with OEMs serving the agriculture sector.

See Aerotech at Productronica 2019

From November 12 to 15, Aerotech will present itself at Productronica in Munich, Germany. More than 1500 exhibitors from more than 40 countries are expected to attend the world's leading trade fair for electronics development and production. At exhibition stand 340 in hall B2, experts from Aerotech will, among other product demos, show off the positioning system IGM (Integrated Granite Motion System) together with the most recent galvo scanner AGV-SPO. Another highlight of the fair presentation will be introducing the innovative control Automation1, successor of the tried and tested A3200. Moreover, Aerotech will demonstrate its comprehensive know-how on laser cutting by using the example of OLED displays.

Schaeffler develops key components for fuel cells

Phoenix Contact team takes second place in WAVE Trophy

Trainees Jana Schwarze and Alexandra Kerps, who are both 21 and have just started their careers at Phoenix Contact, took second place in the WAVE Trophy, the largest e-mobility rally in the world. During the WAVE Trophy, the two aspiring industry sales representatives covered 3241km in their eGolf nicknamed "E-Mil". The rally started in Dortmund on September 13, and the only female duo among the 48 teams competing reached the finish line in Erlangen on September 21. The aim of the WAVE Trophy is to demonstrate e-mobility's almost unrestricted suitability for everyday use today.

CiA publishes conference programme for iCC 2020

The programme committee has selected from the submitted abstracts 23 papers to be presented at the 17th international CAN Conference (iCC) in Baden-Baden (Germany). The conference will take place on March 17th and 18th, 2020. Emotas, Gemac, Peak System, and Vector sponsor this event.
