Mouser signs global distribution agreement with Formerica

Mouser Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement with Formerica Optoelectronics, a provider of optical interconnect products. Using innovative technologies that offer higher energy efficiency, greater reliability, and superior performance, the Formerica portfolio consists of a broad range of optical transceivers, active optical cables (AOC)/fanouts, optical bypass modules (OBM), fiber channel products, and serial digital interface (SDI) transceivers.

Schneider: founding member of ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance

Schneider Electric has joined the newly formed ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance as a Founding Member. The International Society of Automation (ISA) created the Global Cybersecurity Alliance to advance cybersecurity readiness and awareness in worldwide manufacturing and critical infrastructure facilities and processes. Bringing together end-user companies, technology and systems vendors, IT infrastructure vendors, services providers, system integrators and other organisations, the Alliance will proactively address growing and emerging cyber threats.

Kawasaki Robotics is finalist in Plastics Industry Awards 2019

Warrington-based Kawasaki Robotics has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Plastics Industry Awards 2019. The news comes following the success of an innovative robot installation at UK moulders SynthoTec, who are using a Kawasaki robot to boost production of plastic bearing cages. Unusually, SynthoTec chose to install and commission the new robot unit itself, rather than follow the traditional path of having either an integrator or the robot supplier themselves do it for them.

Stemmer Imaging and MVTec co-operate in UK and Ireland

Stemmer Imaging AG and MVTec Software GmbH are expanding their co-operation for the distribution of Halcon and Merlic machine vision software to include the United Kingdom and Ireland. This will take effect from 1st September 2019, and further builds on the current distribution agreement between the two companies which already covers 14 European countries.
