Profinet exhibits first integration of TSN

As with all new technologies, the application and its associated requirements are always of primary importance for Profibus & Profinet International (PI). Only when these basics have been established concrete implementations can be tackled. This is the case with TSN (Time Sensitive Networking). Using a demo application, PI shows how TSN can be integrated into Profinet, thus pointing the way to further specification and standardisation work.

Renishaw Director awarded RAE Silver Medal

On June 27th, 2018, Professor Chris Sutcliffe, Director of Research and Development (R&D) at Renishaw's Additive Manufacturing Products Division (AMPD) was awarded a prestigious Silver Medal from the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE). The award recognises his role in driving the development of metal 3D printed implants for use in human and veterinary surgery.

Renishaw supports winning students at South Wales Big Bang Fair

Renishaw attended the South Wales Big Bang Fair, held recently at Parc Y Scarlets, Llanelli. At the show, Renishaw promoted engineering careers to sixth form students from its dedicated stand. Since October 2017, the company has supported teams from Howell's School and Monmouth School with their competition entries. Howell's School won the overall competition and will represent the region at the UK national competition next year.

Steve Allen, a Member of BSI's MCE/3 committee and National Sales Manager for Procter Machine Safety, has written a review of PD CEN ISO/TR 22100-1:2017, Safety of machinery - Relationship with ISO 12100 - Part 1: How ISO 12100 relates to type-B and type-C standards. This BSI Published Document is the UK implementation of European Technical Report CEN ISO/TR 22100-1:2017 and is identical to International Technical Report ISO/TR 22100-1:2015.

ABB opens information stand at new World Horti Center
