Get your portrait painted by a robot at Automatica 2018

TM Robotics is launching Toshiba Machine's latest industrial robots and machinery to the European market at Automatica 2018. Held from June 19 to 22, 2018, Automatica will welcome over 40,000 visitors to witness demonstrations of the newest innovations in smart automation and robotics. Toshiba Machine's wares will be exhibited from the TM Robotics booth in Hall B5, stand 304.

Schaeffler's intelligent package ensures reliable pump operation

At the Hannover Messe 2018, Schaeffler will present intelligent packages for machine monitoring and lubrication, illustrated using reference projects. One such customer is the Perlenbach water supply association, which supplies fresh drinking water to around 50,000 residents in seven municipalities of Germany's Eifel region every day. Ensuring fault-free, reliable operation would mean manning and monitoring the association's facilities 24 hours a day, as bearing defects in the centrifugal pumps could cause them to fail and compromise the security of the water supply. Perlenbach therefore decided to utilise a system that would continuously monitor and lubricate the machinery. In Schaeffler, the water supply association found an expert partner to help implement a Predictive Maintenance system.

Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards list, 9 March 2018

The latest list of Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) on 9 March 2018 (reference 2018/C 092/01). These Harmonised standards provide a presumption of conformity with the essential health and safety requirements (EHSRs) of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (see below for definitions of Harmonised Standard and Machinery Directive). This new complete list of standards harmonised to the Machinery Directive can be downloaded from the European Commission website (2.1MB PDF, English language) and it supersedes all previous versions. The standards are categorised as A-type standards, B-type standards (but not B1 and B2 types) and C-type standards, with an explanation provided for each type.
