Dawson Shanahan invests further in cold forming capabilities

Dawson Shanahan has further boosted its capabilities in cold forming by investing in a high-throughput Formax machine. This takes the company's investment in new machinery to £500,000 for the third year in a row. Additional investments have been made in the company's turning, milling and grinding capabilities, as well as in metrology and cleaning systems.

IET.tv launches first-of-its-kind video search functionality

IET.tv has launched Engineering Video Intelligence (EVI), a powerful new video transcript search function that enables users to keyword search within its entire video database to find exact and relevant time-stamped content. The online platform, run by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), is claimed to be one of the largest dedicated engineering and technology video databases in the world and includes industry news, technical and regulatory updates, expert insight and interviews, as well as EngTalks and lectures. The new keyword search function that operates on transcripts is said to be the first of its kind.

Eplan Cogineer, first presented at the Hannover Messe, is now a fully fledged member of Eplan Platform. This software for easy and fast generating of schematics and fluid-power designs gives automation an extra boost.
