The biennial co-located events Drives & Controls, Smart Industry Expo, Fluid Power & Systems, Plant & Asset Management, and Air-Tech Exhibitions are once again set to return to Birmingham's NEC (Halls 8, 9 and 10) from 10-12 April 2018, alongside MACH 2018.

One year after acquiring the majority stake in Compact Dynamics GmbH, Schaeffler has now acquired the remaining 49 per cent stake in the company from SEMIKRON. Through the acquisition of the high-performance electric motor manufacturer, Schaeffler is expanding its expertise in the field of electric motors.

congatec has expanded its French sales partner network and is now listed on the line card of APLUS Système Automation. The company will sell the congatec product portfolio from its five locations in Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Nantes and Lille. As a result of the distribution partnership, customers will benefit from even better local consultancy and project management expertise. The APLUS team has 50 employees and also supports OEM customers with personalised Embedded Design & Manufacturing Services.

HepcoMotion promotes stock availability for HLG products

UK manufacturing is making a positive start to the final quarter despite rising price pressure, the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) showed. While the market is certainly busy at the moment, many manufacturers are struggling to keep up with the demand and there are well-documented worldwide delivery issues. Linked to low stock holdings, insufficient capacity at suppliers and shortages in raw material, the PMI shows that October was yet another month of lengthening vendor lead times. The rise of factory automation is certainly contributing to the increased demand for linear motion components.
