Control 2017: Kistler showcases cutting-edge testing technology

Kistler will be present at Control, the quality assurance trade fair from 9 to 12 May 2017 in Stuttgart. The Group will be showcasing Schatz mobile testing systems for bolted joint analysis and tool testing. Other highlights demonstrated at Kistler's fair stand will include the highly dynamic 4503B torque sensor, the latest generation of maXYmos monitoring systems and a wide-ranging portfolio of sensor technology.

Excelsys Technologies announces major organisational changes

Excelsys Technologies is announcing that Gary Duffy has decided to retire as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 30th, 2017. Having undertaken an extensive interview and selection process, the Board of Excelsys has appointed Conor Duffy to take over as CEO. Gary will remain as a special advisor to Excelsys in support of the transition to the new CEO, and he will continue to sit on the Excelsys Board of Directors.

See Industry 4.0-ready sensors at Hanover Messe 2017

In addition to presenting its product highlights, ranging from switching and measuring sensors, identification and vision systems, to system solutions in the area of safety at work, Leuze electronic will be placing the main focus of its booth at this year's Hanover Messe on the Industry 4.0-capable sensors of the future. At Leuze electronic in Hall 9, Booth G76, visitors can experience what Industry 4.0 means specifically and which new opportunities open up for users. The winner of the Industry Prize 2016 in the category 'Optical technologies' for its safety laser scanner RSL 400, is also in the line up this year with a bid for the Industry Prize 2017. This year's contender is the new data transmission photoelectric sensor DDLS 500 (pictured), which combines performance data such as 100Mbit/s real-time transfer up to a distance of 200m with a world first: remote diagnostics through the use of an integrated web server means that all relevant data can be accessed, regardless of location.

The full conference programme for the UKIVA Machine Vision Conference and Exhibition has now been published. The event, which takes place at Arena MK on 27th April 2017, will provide many examples of how machine vision is used in, and benefits, the real world we live in. This is emphasised by the two keynote addresses which start the morning and afternoon sessions.

EOS introduces expert 3D printing training programme

EOS is announcing a first of its kind 3D Printing training course, collaborating with two leading universities in the UK and Germany. For this 6 month "˜Additive Manufacturing Application Engineer' programme, EOS will work directly with the University of Wolverhampton, a long-standing partner of EOS with an existing high-level metal AM expertise especially in automotive, Formula 1 and aerospace, and SRH Hochschule Berlin, one of the leading private universities in Germany, specialising in international business administration and management.

Renishaw hosts FameLab academy students for work experience

Renishaw has offered one-day work experience placements to students from the 2017 FameLab Academy, a science communication competition for year nine students in Gloucestershire. The competition aims to improve communication skills and inspire an interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) careers. On the day, the students visited Renishaw's Innovation Centre for a tour and hands-on activities to give them a taste of what a career in engineering entails.

STW receives AGCO "˜Supplier of the Year Award 2017 - Quality'

At this year's AGCO supplier day in March, the German based company Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) was awarded the "˜Supplier of the Year' prize in the category of Quality. AGCO is a global leader in the design and supply of agricultural machinery, and home to world-famous brands including Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra. In his award speech Florian Kempf, Head of Supplier Management at AGCO, recognised above all the extraordinary service and professionalism of STW.
