igus is promoting its chainflex CFBUS cables, which are designed for dynamic applications. Low-end "˜chain-suitable' bus cables usually feature simple extruded outer jackets and open shielding, which in moving applications can lead to abrasion damage and interference. They also tend to have a layered conductor design, which can result in lower signal quality.

Pluggable terminal blocks with Push-in connection

Multi-level terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact increase wiring density under limited space conditions. The new, multilevel terminal blocks with a diagonal design are just 3.5mm wide and save space for wiring. Another advantage of the diagonal design is the user-friendly cable entry.

Variohm launches low-power series of pressure sensors

Variohm EuroSensor's new EPT31LE series pressure sensor features very fast power-up and response times and a low power consumption that suits mobile equipment pressure monitoring used in combination with battery and/or solar powered wireless transmitting systems. Aimed at remote pressure-monitoring tasks on agricultural machinery, heavy construction equipment and similar demanding applications, the sensor's supply voltage is 3 or 5V DC and current consumption is just 6mA with more than 20 pressure range variants from 0.6 to 5000 bar in gauge or vacuum units.

congatec and Hacarus launch Sparse Modeling embedded AI kit

congatec and the AI experts at Japanese company Hacarus have unveiled what is claimed to be the world's first embedded computing kit for Artificial Intelligence (AI) that uses Sparse Modeling technology. Sparse Modeling needs little training data to make highly accurate predictions. This is an advantage for vision-based inspection systems, among others, because the reject rate is naturally lower when manufacturing quality is high.

Nord launches high-efficiency IE5+ synchronous motor

At SPS 2019 in Nuremberg, Nord Drivesystems presented a new synchronous motor with a significantly higher energy efficiency (IE5+). This new motor can be supplied without a fan and with very smooth surfaces. It can be combined with the nsd tupH surface treatment. It is therefore optimally suited for use in intralogistics and wash-down applications.
