Spring-applied brake approved for functional safety applications

Lenze Selection is offering the BFK458 spring-applied brake that is now approved for functional safety applications. Compared with using a standard, non-approved brake, using the BFK458 therefore simplifies the process of designing a functional safety system and CE marking a machine to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The BFK458 is approved for use as a service brake and holding brake.

Modular uEye ACP for developing customised industrial cameras

Wieland launches revos Modular connector system

revos Modular is a new, modular connector system from Wieland Electric that is compatible with the market standard and enables the transmission of energy, signals, and data all in just one connector. Integrated miniature microstepping motor uses single-cable PoE

Applied Motion Products (AMP) has launched a Power over Ethernet (PoE)-enabled integrated miniature microstepping motor package that combines a closed-loop digital drive, feedback encoder and an Ethernet-supported motion controller as a single-cable positioning product. With PoE linked drive/controller power and Ethernet communications over a single cable the TSM14POE series, based on AMP's well proven StepSERVO technology, will bring a new level of application capability for miniature decentralised automation tasks with time and cost savings through simplified wiring as well as compactness and location flexibility. Available from Mclennan - AMP's European distribution partner - the NEMA size 14 integrated motor could be applied to existing PoE-linked devices such as IP Camera systems to add positioning capability, or to miniature automated devices such as robotics, end effectors, small actuators and medical instruments.

Servo systems cables with improved connectors and labelling

Improved servo systems cables made by Kollmorgen are now available to UK users through INMOCO. Kollmorgen is following a programme to upgrade many of its cables so that they are easier to install and more robust, while also performing better in supplying power and/or transmitting control signals. For instance, cables currently fitted with Speedtec connectors up to 20A (2.5mm ² wire gauge) will now be equipped with Locktec connectors to provide better bend protection, with a similar upgrade being offered on larger cables later.
