With the e-skin flat and the e-skin soft, igus offers two new space-saving energy chain systems for use in cleanroom applications. Developed for tight installation spaces on short, self-supporting travels, e-skin soft is made of a softer material than the standard e-skin. As the name suggests, e-skin flat is for very flat installation spaces. In noise tests, the e-skin soft had a value of 32.4dBA and the e-skin flat 29dBA - both quieter than alternative cleanroom cable management systems available on the market.

MotoMINI: Yaskawa's compact, lightweight, mini six-axis robot

Yaskawa UK Motoman Robotics division has unveiled what is believed to be the smallest, lightest, six-axis industrial robot specifically designed for small handling and assembly applications. The MotoMINI 7kg lightweight, portable robot is easy to carry and install close to workpieces and other machinery in existing production lines or cells, providing a payload of 500g, a maximum horizontal reach of 350mm and vertical reach of 495mm.

New plasma cutting consumables last longer and cut thicker

ESAB is launching its new Cutmaster Black Series of enhanced performance {plasma cutting consumables}, which extend operating life by 60 per cent compared with standard life electrodes. They are featured on the SL60QD 1Torch, which comes with the Cutmaster 60i handheld air plasma cutting system. Coupled with internal enhancements on the Cutmaster 60i, the new electrode design increases the unit's rated cut and piercing capacity to 20mm, a 16.6 per cent improvement. The Cutmaster 60i can sever metal up to 38mm.
