Ixthus to supply Riftek contactless tube ID measurement system

Developed for an Italian automation specialist and available as part of Riftek's expanding range of laser scanning pipe and tube inner diameter measurement systems, a new variant of the RF096 series laser probes speeds precision measurement inspection for tubular components. With direct interfacing to PROFINET equipped fieldbus controllers, the system combines a rotating triangulation laser and a motorised linear translation stage that together step & scan profiled or smooth inner diameters between 35 to 55mm for a measurement resolution of 3 microns and linearity of +/-15 microns over a bore depth range of 100mm. New material optimises insulation for igus chainflex cables

The trend for variable frequency drives (VFDs) is moving towards more compact drives with the same or a higher performance level than their predecessors. The more compact design of the motors can result in higher temperatures within the system, compared with larger ranges of the same motors. The result is that the cable heats up via the connector contacts.

Positek has increased its comprehensive range of precision sensors with new pressure transducer and temperature probe product lines along with dedicated instrumentation displays. PCIe interface card for synchronous data capture

Micro-Epsilon is introducing a new interface card for PCs that enables absolute synchronous capture of digital sensor signals and encoder data. The IF2008 PCIe interface card is designed for installation in PCs with PCI Express interface slots. Absolute synchronous data acquisition plays an important role in measurement applications, particularly for planarity and thickness measurement tasks. The IF2008 PCIe interface card enables the synchronous capture of four digital sensor signals and two encoders. The data is stored in a FIFO memory in order to allow resource-saving processing in the PC in blocks.

ESAB launches redesigned PSF MIG/MAG welding torches

The modernised PSF series of MIG/MAG welding torches from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products includes the new PSF 520W water-cooled torch. It features a 100 per cent duty cycle rating at 500A with both mixed gas and CO2, to take on demanding jobs with wires up to 1.6mm in diameter.

Rugged, modular MIL 83513 1.27mm pitch connector

Nicomatic is announcing new features for its rugged micro connector, the 1.27mm pitch EMM series, which targets defence and other high-reliability applications. The MIL 83513-style connectors that require a significantly smaller footprint than the closest industry competitor now feature captive screw fixings and can be used with thicker PCBs and larger diameter cables.
