Streamlined copper busbar delivers more power but costs less

Rittal has unveiled the new Ri4Power, a streamlined copper busbar that has been designed around the new VX25 enclosure. It delivers greater levels of efficiency for panel builders and switchgear manufacturers across electrical power distribution in industrial environments. It also offers other advantages, such as higher current ratings and easier monitoring and maintenance. Solutions based on this system have been tested and certified to IEC 61439.

Poka Yoke (the Japanese term for mistake-proofing) is used to describe pick-to-light systems for manual assembly work. Mitsubishi Electric has moved the concept several steps forward to create Guided Operator Solutions (GOS) that essentially use a controller-based system of active assembly instructions and sequenced parts supply from bins to help operators perform picking and assembly tasks faultlessly every time. An added advantage is that the system also allows these processes to be integrated fully into business Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), further enhancing the operational benefits and improvements they bring.

New miniature programmable angle sensor customised to order

Variohm EuroSensor's new Euro-CMRS series miniature angle sensors offer programmable angles from 30 degrees to 360 degrees in 1-degree increments in a non-contacting and long-life Hall Effect design that includes a durable IP68-sealed aluminium housing with 18mm PCD mounting and a micro 4mm diameter 316 stainless steel D-type shaft. Integrated servo motors with feedback, drive and motion control

New from Applied Motion Products Inc (AMP) and available from Mclennan, MDX series integrated servo motors combine a high torque-density and low rotor-inertia brushless motor, feedback, drive stage and motion controller in a single DC-powered package, complete with I/O and communications interfacing. Aimed at distributed motion control tasks where torque/force, velocity and/or precision positioning is required, and available in 200W or 400W power ratings, they blend the well proven performance capabilities of AMP's 60mm J-series servo motors and SV200 series all-digital intelligent servo drives.
