Congatec doubles RAM support for server-on-modules

Congatec reports that its Intel Atom C3000 processor-based conga-B7AC server-on-modules now support up to 96GB DDR4 SO-DIMM memory on three sockets. This is twice the previously supported capacity and sets a major new milestone for COM Express Type 7-based designs, as memory is one of the most important performance levers for embedded edge server technologies. This performance leap was possible because the Intel Atom C3000 family supports the newly available 32 GB SO-DIMMs. The new Server-on-Modules with a high-speed memory bandwidth of 2400 MT/s are available now and can be ordered with and without ECC support.

New ceiling-mounted SCARA robot for fast assembly

ABB is expanding its SCARA robot family with the launch of a compact invert-mounted model for small parts assembly applications. By mounting the IRB 910INV on the ceiling, manufacturers can increase the space efficiency and flexibility of each cell and handle more complex tasks even in cramped locations. The inverted mounting also allows the IRB 910INV to collaborate with other robots and machines simultaneously in the same footprint, further boosting productivity.

3D vision system creates data twice as fast

The Ensenso XR stereo camera from IDS can calculate 3D point clouds itself. Afterwards, it transmits the data via Gigabit Ethernet or WiFi to a host PC for further analysis. The advantages of the new camera series include, for example, significantly faster 3D data generation and reduced load on bandwidth and connected PCs.

Microsemi PolarFire FPGAs for IIoT applications now at Mouser

Mouser Electronics is now stocking PolarFire field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) from Microsemi. The flash-based, mid-range PolarFire FPGAs deliver 300K logic elements at up to 50 per cent lower power consumption than equivalent SRAM-based FPGAs. The devices offer best-in-class security, single event upset (SEU)-immune fabric, and serialiser/deserialiser (SerDes) performance for a variety of applications in the communications, defence, aviation, industrial automation, and Internet of Things (IoT) markets.

Now available from RDS is the new Rugged RTC 7inch WXGA TFT LCD tablet. This ARM-based Android tablet has a Rockchip RK3288 1.6GHz quad-core processor and 2GB SDRAM DDR3L as well as complying with MIL-STD 810G specifications.
