Wireless spindle positioning system reduces machine set-up times

The Elesa wireless spindle positioning system enables faster and more reliable machine set up by use of a wireless connected profile controller, which displays the initial set up values on each of up to 36 electronic position indicators. The operator can simply choose the appropriate menu then quickly re-set each spindle to its correct start position and the machine is "good to go". The new Heavycon EVO M1 plastic housings from Phoenix Contact accommodate a modular contact insert. They are smaller and more cost-effective than a B6 interface. Like all EVO housings, the M1 single-module housings also feature a swivel cable gland with bayonet locking.

The company states that they have been developed specifically for applications requiring a combination of high bond strength together with reduced production time cycles. The double-sided PE foam bonding tape is said to offer exceptional resistance to weathering, extreme temperature variations and high moisture content without loss of adhesion, and Lohmann has test results available that illustrate the precise parameters achievable with the new range.

Nexperia expands NextPower Live linear-mode MOSFET family

Nexperia is launching an addition to its NextPower Live linear-mode MOSFET family; the PSMN3R7-100BSE delivers a best-in-class combination of strong Safe Operating Area (SOA) and low RDS(on), and is well suited for hot-swap, soft-start and e-fuse applications. In order to manage the high in-rush current that can occur when swapping a server board or other pluggable system, or to ensure that a processor board is brought up smoothly, a MOSFET with high SOA is used in conjunction with a hot swap controller. Previous generation parts have traded off SOA against RDS(on), whereas the new technology maximizes SOA without affecting RDS(on), thereby maintaining high operating efficiency levels.

It can be used to safely record and monitor any process up to PL e or SIL CL 3. One particular advantage is the separate module program (mIQ) which can be used to make fine adjustments of the value.
