Warner Electric clutch used in hybrid transmissions technology

As fossil fuels continue to diminish, engineers are working hard to perfect alternative power transmission. While fully electric systems still have many flaws, in recent years hybrid designs have surged in popularity: they are now found in trains, boats, agricultural equipment and even the latest generation hyper-cars. Warner Electric has designed a customised E220 electromagnetic clutch which transmits high torque, high speed and high power from a diesel engine to an electric transmission system when the batteries begin to lose power.

LOCTITE chosen for arduous, sub-zero conditions

The Beast is built for supreme performance and the utmost driver comfort. Powered by a 12.5 litre Caterpillar C13 Acert turbo diesel engine, this vehicle is responsible for grooming the ski slopes, at night and when others are enjoying the après-ski. Operating in temperatures around 30 degrees below freezing and on slopes that can be over 45 egrees steep, The Beast relies extensively on LOCTITE engineering adhesives from Henkel to secure components and seal hydraulics.

Universal Robots racks up the benefits at Etalex

Installing a Universal Robot to pick metal parts out of a press brake solved several automation headaches at Etalex, a manufacturer of shelving systems that had no room for safety guarding in front of the press and needed a flexible user-friendly robot able to safely handle the pick and place tasks in a high traffic area. The UR10 robot was up for the challenge.
