Kawasaki robot selected for demoulding concrete slabs

Concrete evidence has emerged of another export success for Stoke-on-Trent based engineering firm Morris Brothers, following the delivery of a custom-built slab moulding machine to an overseas customer. Morris Brothers is one of the UK's oldest established manufacturers of concrete moulding machines, and for this latest export success, a Kawasaki robot proved invaluable in helping them secure the contract.

Automatic cardboard cutting machine uses Hepco's linear guides

G. Kraft Maschinenbau GmbH, based in Germany, develop special machines for different industries including the packaging industry. Packaging processes are often complex and the requirement for machines which can offer flexibility in cardboard processing is steadily rising. G. Kraft have subsequently developed the automated cardboard cutting machine, "˜VPS100.' In order to move quickly and precisely, the developers rely on HepcoMotion's GV3 linear guides. Thanks to its special features and properties, the GV3 range was a clear choice over competitors' guide systems. The V-bearings and rollers are able to provide smooth movement despite the high forces applied during processing; a must to enable precise processing of cartons.

NSK ball screws incorporated in electric press brakes

NSK ball screws from the advanced HTF (High Tough) series are helping press brake manufacturers switch from conventional hydraulic drives, to electric drive systems, which offer a number of notable benefits. The ball screws are being delivered to NSK customer Sangalli Servomotori, who is using the units in combination with its brushless servomotors to supply a complete system to a global manufacturer of press brakes.

ABB supports the first Safe HMI with in-built Profinet/Profisafe

A collaboration between Deuta-Werke and ABB is on track to introduce the world's first Safe HMI equipped with Profinet/Profisafe fieldbus for standard and safety communication. The world's first safe-touch human-machine-interface (Safe HMI) up to SIL 3 (IEC 61508) for use in trains will support Profinet/Profisafe industrial communication.

Retrofitted control heads extend life of 200 process valves

Investing in high-quality process control valves have several operational advantages, including an extended service life.
