CE marking Centre of Excellence opens in UK

Jean-Louis Evans, Managing Director of TUV Product Service, which is an accredited CE marking Notified Body, says: "The launch of our new CE Marking Centre of Excellence is a great way to formally celebrate the business' growth over the last 21 years. Our success is testament to the huge amount of integrity and commitment that our staff have to get the job done right. We look forward to another 21 years of knowing that we do some good as we strive to make sure that what we all buy is safe and reliable."

TUV is renowned in the industry for its 'TUV octagon' compliance mark. Over 29,000 TUV octagon marks can be found on a variety of products, with companies using it including Hewlett Packard, Black and Decker, Tandberg and Dyson. The TUV octagon mark goes beyond the one-off type testing required by CE marking, as a product must comply with the relevant standards, the manufacturing facilities must pass an annual audit, and specific claims about the product's performance must also be proven.

Evans continues: "The TUV mark carries great credence, as it is very tough to get; and while UK industry uses it, consumers in Germany will actually think twice about buying a product that does not have our octagon mark on it."

Over the last two decades TUV Product Service claims to have established the world's largest 'one-stop testing shop' as it has a fully integrated, single-site facility for EMC, environmental and telecoms testing.
