Ceramic foam delivered in custom sizes and shapes
Goodfellow is promoting its capability for producing ceramic foams in custom dimensions. Materials available include silicon carbide, alumina, zirconia and graphite-based materials. Heat stability is up to 1500degC.
The maximum size for Goodfellow's ceramic foams is 50 x 600 x 800mm and customers can specify basic profiles (eg square, circle, rectangle) or ceramic foam can be produced in custom shapes with no tooling charges. In addition, customers can select a standard porosity from 3 pores/cm to 30 pores/cm, or custom porosities may be available upon request. Depending on the design, parts can be produced with two different porosities within one manufactured piece.
Ceramic foams are used for many different applications, including thermal insulation, stiff yet lightweight structural components, and filtration of molten metals.
