Chainflex control cables gain UL and CSA approvals
Igus Chainflex CF9 and CF10 control cables are now available with UL and CSA approval. Originally developed for dynamic applications with high cycle rates, speeds and accelerations in demanding conditions, the CF9 and CF10 control cables have been used successfully around the globe for the past 15 years.
The new control cables have a bending radius of five times their diameter, a flame-resistant TPE outer sheath and flexibility even in low temperatures, which means they can be used in ambient conditions ranging from -35 to +100degC. They are also resistant to oil and bio-oil, as well as UV radiation, so are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Some 850 Chainflex cables are available for use within an Energy Chain – from servo cables to optical waveguides, and from control cables to FireWire bus cables. The flameproof CF9.UL and CF10.UL cables are versatile and suitable for high cycle rates.
Typical applications include racking units, machining centres, tooling machines, high-speed handling, clean room and semi-conductor equipment, ship-to-shore and outdoor cranes, and other low-temperature applications.
The new cables are available ex-stock with no cutting costs or minimum order quantities.
