A wide range of camera technologies covering a host of industrial and scientific imaging applications will be shown by Stemmer Imaging at Vision UK@Photonex. Cameras with the latest Sony CMOS sensors with high light sensitivity and dynamic range can be seen alongside high-resolution, high-speed cameras, Short Wave IR cameras and a dual CCD camera for simultaneous imaging of visible and NIR light.
Sony's new IMX174 2.3 Mpixel CMOS sensor offers performance not previously achievable with CMOS sensors in terms of light sensitivity, dynamic range and pattern noise, as well as delivering superb colour reproduction. These sensors can be seen in action in cameras from IDS and AVT.
High-resolution, high-speed imaging will be demonstrated using a Falcon 2 camera from Teledyne DALSA linked to a frame grabber from Silicon Software which provides extended FPGA image processing using VisualApplets. This will be configured for image pre-processing to manage the high data rate from the camera.
Also on show will be a dual CCD multispectral camera from JAI, which allows simultaneous visible and NIR imaging of exactly the same field of view. These cameras feature two CCD sensors looking through a single lens. This powerful arrangement allows the full benefits of imaging using NIR radiation to be realised enabling features below the surface of an object to be viewed, which may reveal otherwise unobservable defects.
Short Wave IR cameras offer the ability to image both reflected IR and IR emitted at higher temperatures (300-800degC). SWIR imaging will be demonstrated with cameras from AVT and Xenics which feature InGaAs sensors stabilised with TEC1 peltier cooling.
Stemmer Imaging will be on Stand E01 at Vision UK@Photonex, which takes place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 15 and 16 October 2014. For further information about industrial and scientific imaging technologies please visit www.stemmer-imaging.co.uk.
