Code-reading camera accepts industry-standard lenses

Absolute Vision is introducing a new USB 2.0, 1.3 Megapixel camera, the AV-M50. Capable of accepting a range of interchangeable lenses, the AV-M50 is said to be far more versatile for code reading.

Commenting on the latest addition to the company's range of readers, Richard Laight, business development manager at Absolute Vision, says: "Some engineering environments can prove challenging for readers with a fixed lens. The ability to fit interchangeable lenses with either industry-standard C or CS mounts gives users a larger stand-off distance and a greater field of view. The depth of field is ultimately determined by the size and type of mark being read and the ambient lighting available. Data from the reader can be fed into the Medusa 4.0 software, the latest upgrade of our proven database software."

AV-M50s have already been supplied to companies involved in aerospace engineering, where it is not always possible to get close to the mark being read due to other processes taking place at the same time.
