Compact safety shock absorbers have high energy capacity

Ace Controls International is extending its range of safety shock absorbers with the addition of two new smaller units that still offer high performance. Based on innovative technology of combining the piston and inner tube, as used on the company's SC² heavyweight shock absorbers, an energy capacity of up to 525Nm can be achieved for emergency use.

The two new units – the SCS-300 and SCS-650 – have stroke lengths of 15 and 23mm and body lengths of only 105.5 and 140mm, respectively. The outer body is nitride-hardened steel and the piston rod is hardened stainless steel. All units have an operating temperature range of 0-66degC.

This new compact design will have numerous emergency use applications. Of particular interest is the growing number of smaller and faster linear drives.
