Connector element negates the need for a separate cover

A new hinged element in the Harting Han HPR series of industrial connector hoods and housings is designed to be screwed onto existing bulkhead mounting housings and protection covers to create a configuration with an integral hinged protection cover, thereby eliminating the need for a separate cover.

The cover locks into place in the vertical position when it is opened all the way and does not make contact with a locked hood, thereby preventing damage to the surface of the hood caused by vibration. An open cover that is locked in place also serves as a reminder to the user that the protection cover is to be closed and locked after the hood is removed.

Used primarily for electrical connections in vehicles, the Harting Han HPR series of hoods and housings is also suitable for applications with harsh environmental conditions or moisture, or where sensitive connections require protection or shielding.

The Han HPR bulkhead mounting housing is currently available from stock in size 16B. Sizes 6B, 10B and 24B will be available in the near future.
