Following the high levels of interest generated on their recent exhibition stand showcasing Continuous Improvement initiatives, SMC has confirmed that it will continue with the theme at the Drives & Controls expo, at the NEC from 12 to 14 April. On stand AF210 of hall 3A, SMC's modular display will highlight products and practices that any manufacturer can use to incorporate CI into their daily routine.
The unit can be separated from the main exhibition stand and visitors to the show can book the unit be displayed on their own premises. This allows colleagues unable to visit Drives & Controls to see how easy the products and Kaizen theory are to implement - and reap benefits from.
Drives & Controls exhibition is recognised as the UK's leading show for automation, power transmission and motion engineering. It is a biennial event, co-located with six other Industrial exhibitions, which will make it the largest manufacturing/industrial event in the UK in 2016. The exhibition has grown over the last decade and in 2014 had over 13,000 visitors.
SMC's Marketing Manager, Bob Hitner says: "Continuous Improvement remains a very important theme in every sector of industry. There are so many "quick wins' that can be incorporated into daily routines, that we highlight on the unit - as well as medium to long-term investments but that can lead to meaningful efficiencies and lower costs.
"Lean manufacturing and cost cutting doesn't have to mean redundancies - it's also about working smarter. It can be about new procedures as well as monitoring products that help prevent failures and, consequently, machine downtime and unplanned maintenance."
Drives & Controls Expo 2016 takes place at the NEC near Birmingham from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 April. SMC will be on stand AF210 - one of the largest in the entire event - within the Fluid Power & Systems section. For more information and to register for free entry, go to www.drives-expo.com.
