Jas was tasked with sourcing a control system for a brand new product, due to be launched later in the year. The marketing team had provided her with a brief containing words such as "eye-catching", "intuitive" and "appealing", but very few technical details. After a great deal of hard work, Jas finally found a supplier. Her hopes were dashed by one question, "How many thousand units would you like us to quote for?".
Jas' requirement was much more modest, a couple of prototypes with the ambition of achieving sales in the tens, not thousands. After visiting MachineBuilding.net, Jas discovered Top Hex.

Top Hex designs and manufactures custom electronic controls for a wide range of industries. The company designed a touchscreen controller for Jas which was certainly "eye-catching". It also supplied a control enclosure and even produced some of the mechanical fittings; all manufactured in-house at its facility in Cambridgeshire.
During the commissioning process, numerous changes were made to the software to ensure it was "intuitive", and this is all part of the service offered by Top Hex. As an addition to the project, Top Hex wrote a PC application for monitoring and datalogging. This was one of several requests from Jas' demanding clients.
The product was launched in a matter of months and branded using the strict corporate guidelines provided by Jas' marketing colleagues. They thought the product was "appealing" so the brief had been met.
Since then, sales have progressively increased and Jas' product is now one of her Company's best-sellers. Top Hex continue to support the product and the next generation controller is scheduled. The marketing team are already working on a brief.
