Decentralised remote I/O access to process data

Phoenix Contact's PLC logic module is a combination of a switching device and controller. And with networking via RS-485 Modbus/RTU, the company says PLC logic can be easily and securely integrated into higher-level automation systems. Decentralised access to the PLC logic process data is easy to implement for remote control, diagnostics, and visualisation, and can be configured easily via web-based management.

The new PLC logic modules with built-in RS-485 interface enable easy integration into Modbus/RTU networks. As distributed basic modules with 16 I/O or in a full configuration with two extension modules and 48 I/Os, the logic modules are connected as devices of higher-level automation systems.

The independent control concept of the logic modules means that the functionality of the local application is ensured even if Modbus communication is lost.
