Digital spectrum analyser is low cost yet high quality
Telonic Instruments is introducing the Rigol DSA815 digital spectrum analyser, a new low-cost, high-quality instrument. The DSA815 is the latest in a range of fast, compact and lightweight spectrum analysers incorporating Rigol's proven all-digital IF technology. This new analyser can measure and distinguish between small signals to a frequency difference of only 100Hz, and the IF filter also enables smaller bandwidth settings. According to Telonic Instruments, Greater reliability is obtained compared with traditional analogue designs, as the digital IF reduces the complexity of the hardware. In addition, the digital technology improves the bandwidth precision and the selectivity of the filter, thereby minimising the scanning time and improving the measuring times.
This versatile digital spectrum analyser is available in a 9kHz to 1.5GHz frequency range, with a typical -135dBm displayed average noise level (DANL) for accurate measurements. Phase noise is -80dBc/Hz for frequency stability with a minimum resolution bandwidth (RBW) of 100Hz. A preamplifier and AM/FM demodulation function is standard, and a, eight-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) display is incorporated.
Optional extras include a 1.5GHz tracking generator, EMI filter and quasi-peak detector kit, VSWR 19-inch rack mount, and numerous advanced measurements in the frequency domain. This innovative digital spectrum analyser is claimed to offer complete connectivity with standard interfaces such as LAN, USB host, USB device and GPIB (option) for easy integration and assistance in solving production problems. Measuring 361.6mm x 178.8mm x 128mm and weighing 4.25kg, the instrument can be easily transported.
Designed to meet the requirements of production engineers, test engineers, teaching laboratories, SMEs and independent design houses, the the Rigol DSA815 digital spectrum analyser is suitable for applications in wireless system field test/maintenance, and cable TV EMI pre-compliance test and research.
