Drive systems enhance rehabilitation technology

Business start-up Fourier Intelligence specialises in exoskeletons and robotic rehabilitation solutions, and is now teaming up with maxon to pool expertise and develop industry-leading products and platforms for patients. To seal the partnership, a memorandum of understanding was signed in December 2020.

Fourier already uses BLDC motors from maxon in its ExoMotus X2 exoskeleton. In addition, maxon will now become part of the Exoskeleton & Robotics Open Platform System (EXOPS™) for research and development of exoskeleton and robotics systems. maxon will provide a variety of customised drive solutions with motors, gearheads, encoders and controllers to aspiring engineers who want to develop robotics solutions for rehabilitation.
